IFS /Internal Family Systems/ couples therapy

In most cases, the partners in the pair communicate through their defensive parts - Critical, Angry, Explaining, Withdrawing Protector. There is no winner in this "war". There are only the wounded. In therapy we learn to connect with our needs and express them in a way that our partner can hear and understand.

IFS couples therapy provides an effective method for improving communication and emotional connection between partners. Often in everyday interactions, partners communicate through their defensive parts, leading to conflict and misunderstandings. IFS couples therapy addresses the individual emotional needs of each partner and creates a space where they can connect and express themselves in a way that leads to understanding and harmony.

What to expect from couples therapy?

IFS therapy is not appropriate for couples in which there is violence because we work with vulnerable parts of ourselves that are not safe to disclose in a violent relationship.
