IFS (Internal Family Systems) is a therapeutic method created by Richard Schwartz about 40 years ago in the USA, which is rapidly gaining popularity and recognition in Europe and worldwide. The method is based on the concept that each person has different parts (inner aspects) and a Self (Inner Self) that serves as a healing agent. In individual therapy, the client is encouraged to get to know his or her parts and create a relationship with them so that when the parts are activated outside of therapy, there is a tool to regulate them.
What to expect from the individual IFS consultation?
- Awareness of one's inner parts - the first step in therapy is for the practitioner to understand the client, and then for the client to connect with and understand their parts.
- Access to Self-energy - We can explain Self as Inner Wisdom, Atman from Yoga, Buddha Natute from Buddhism... In therapy, the client begins to feel curiosity, empathy, tenderness, inspiration, courage and love for themselves.
- Healing Trauma - A powerful tool for healing trauma is access to the Self - first the therapist and then the client.
